Notes - JOHN TYSON
The Tyson Family unit originated from Wales where our Grandsire, John Tyson, our showtime known and proven ancestor, was born in 1635. Paul Tyson, Clinton, SC., researched and plant our John Tyson in Northampton County, VA equally early equally 1664.# He is constitute in the tithables listing as early as 1664 as "Jan Mathiason", in 1675 every bit "John Mathiason", in 1676 "John Tyson and Susannika his wife and Matthias Tyson, their son" bought 100 acres of land in Northampton County, VA from William Andrews. John appears to accept died in Northampton, Co. VA during the first half of 1683, because his will was dated March 1, 1681 and was probated August 28, 1683. Information technology reads:
"In the Proper noun of God Amen I, John Mattice of the County of Northampton in Virginia a planter, bing very sick and weak of body but in perfect memory, do brand this my final Will and Attestation as followeth--I do bestow my Soul to God who gave information technology hoping through the mercies of my Blessed Savior to Inherit Everlasting Life My trunk to the Earth to ___Decent and Christian like burial---And for what Manor in this world information technology hath pleased God to bestow upon me I do bequeath every bit followeth My just debts being paid I give to my Dearly Honey wife Susanna Tice all my appurtenances and chattle so long as she remains a widow; but in instance she practise marry and so shall my appurtenances and chattle be equally divided between my Three children Mathias Tice and Anne Tice and Katherine Tice and in confidence of these presence and to all intents and purposes in witness thereof I have--I take sett my hand and Seal this beginning day of March Ane Chiliad Six Hundred Eighty One.
